Your spiritual journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the Nepal-Tibet border. Depending on road conditions and group preferences, we will reach either Syabrubesi (1,600m) or Timure (1,983m), both gateways to Tibet. The drive takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, passing through lush valleys and terraced fields. Upon arrival, check into a local lodge for an overnight stay, preparing for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, we proceed to the border at Rasuwagadhi. Here, complete the necessary immigration and customs formalities before crossing into Tibet. The drive to Kerung takes about 1.5 hours, covering approximately 40 km. Kerung is a small Tibetan town nestled in the Himalayan foothills, offering a peaceful environment for acclimatization. Overnight at a guesthouse in Kerung.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some leisure time in Kathmandu for last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, concluding the Mount Kailash Overland Tour organized by Ideal Nepal Tours and Travels.

Mount Kailash is considered sacred in multiple faiths:
Hindus believe it is the throne of Lord Shiva and the center of the universe.
Buddhists associate it with Mount Meru, the spiritual axis of the world.
Jains believe it to be the site where their first Tirthankara attained enlightenment.
Bon followers view it as the seat of spiritual power.
Completing the Kailash Kora (Parikrama) is believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual liberation.
The Kora is a 52-kilometer trek around Mount Kailash, typically done in 3 days:
Day 1: Darchen to Dirapuk (approx. 20 km)
Day 2: Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk via Dolma La Pass (the toughest day, approx. 22 km)
Day 3: Zuthulphuk to Darchen (approx. 10 km)
While not technically difficult, the trek is physically demanding due to high altitude (up to 5,645 meters). Good fitness, acclimatization, and preparation are essential.
